Somerset County Detours and Construction Projects

Amwell Road (Route 206 to Clerico Lane) Route 206 Bypass Contract, Township of Hillsborough

There will be planned traffic interference on Homestead Road next week Monday through Friday. Traffic will be alternated between the hours of 9:00AM and 3:00PM. Amwell Road will remain in the Stage 1 traffic pattern (lane shifts with one lane in each direction) for at least the next few to several months. Hillsborough Rd. over CSX RR continues to be closed with a detour, and should remain closed until October. Homestead Rd. will not be closed until next year. Schedule to remain the same as last week.

River Road (Main Rd) off Amwell Road by Neshanic Reformed Church is now OPEN 

River Road (CR 567) also known as Main Road, Township of Hillsborough. The section of River Road (CR 567) between Amwell Road (CR 514) and Riverside Drive is now open to through traffic. The remainder of the work associated with the replacement of County Bridge Nos. C0511 and C0514 will be done with minimal impact to through traffic.

STATE PROJECTS IN SOMERSET COUNTY

There will be planned traffic interference on Amwell Road this week Monday (10/31) through Friday (11/4). Traffic will be alternated between the hours of 8:00pm and 7:00am for paving work. Hillsborough Road over CSX RR continues to be closed with a detour and should be open in December this year, but possibly next spring if the concrete and paving work cannot be completed before winter. Homestead Road will not be closed until next year, and will not be closed at the same time as Hillsborough Road.

Bridge work continues on the Route 206 bypass over Royce Brook, Route 206 bypass bridge over Homestead Road, Amwell Road bridge over Route 206 bypass, and Hillsborough Road over CSX RR. The Amwell Road bridge is almost complete, paving work will continue through the next month. Utility and other work continues throughout the project.
