As reported in the Jan. 12th issue of the Newark Star Ledger, this past week, Gannett cut its newsroom staff from 99 to 53 people collectively for the Courier News (Somerville), the Home News Tribune (East Brunswick) and the Daily Record (Parsippany). 

Current employees at the three papers can apply for jobs under the restructured company between now and the end of January.  The circulation for the Courier News is 18,392 daily and 22,134 Sunday according to industry data from September of 2010.
