10th EBDC Business Social Held Sept. 16th

The 10th Hillsborough Township "Economic & Business Development Commission" Business Social was held on Tuesday, September 16th at Valley National Bank.

The EBDC's 10th Business Social event was held last Tuesday, September 16th, at Valley National Bank from 6:00 PM till about 8:30 PM.  It was attended by about 150 people, primarily local business men and woman, plus supporters of the business community and Township officials led by Mayor Anthony Ferrera.
 
EBDC Chairman Shawn Lipani was the event's Master of Ceremony.  Following the socializing/networking from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, the Chairman conducted the business portion of the evening.  This included welcoming remarks to the business community by Mayor Ferrera.  This was followed by the presentation of three plaques.  The first went to Valley National Bank for hosting the event.  Vice President/Branch Manager Stephen C. Bearse accepted on behalf of the bank. 
 
The second plaque went to The Rotary Club of Hillsborough in recognition of the organization's living up to its motto of "Service Above Self" and its many years of support for the people, business community and Township of Hillsborough, including this summer's 28th Annual Fair.  The award was accepted by their President and former mayor Tony Gwiazdowski.  Mr. Gwiazdowski spoke briefly about the The Rotary Club. 

The third plaque went to the Township's Business Advocate Gene Strupinsky "In recognition of His Dedicated Service and Support of the the Local Business Community & EBDC."
 
The evening concluded with the drawing of winners for the door prizes provided by nearly 40 of the businesses.  
 
An earlier surprise was the bringing of warm pretzels by Ben Weinstein and his son.  Ben is the owner of Philly Soft Pretzel Factory which will be opening in Nelson's Corner next to Starbuck's about November 1st.
