Mildred's Roots
 
Mildred Molina Montalvo was born in Manhattan, New York, who shortly thereafter moved to Puerto Rico, to her paternal aunt’s house. Between her mother Magnolia and her aunts Virginia and Tita, Mildred quickly learned that the kitchen is the heart of the home, filled with love, family and delicious, soul-satisfying dishes. With an extended family of relatives from Central America and Colombia, Mildred grew up with an appreciation for the rich, diverse flavors of the Spanish speaking world.
 
Becoming a Chef
 
Her family in Puerto Rico and Colombia are well known for their amazing traditional authentic dishes, at their Catering business, restaurants, and hotels. At the age of nine she discovered her passion for food, preparing amazing food for others at her Parents restaurant in Joyuda, Puerto Rico. It was no surprise; she immediately knew this is where she wanted to be.
 
After High School, Mildred set her energies to raising a family. Few years later after hosting and catering for family and friends she decided to build her own catering business and pursue her dreams, completing her career in 2012 at the MCDI (culinary art program) in Massachusetts. Mildred did her Internship as a line cook for the Sheraton hotel, (room service and sports bar) and for Opa-Opa steakhouse in Massachusetts.
  
Over the years learning professional experience from her family business and culinary training in number of cuisines. She has become extremely skilled at putting her own stamp on traditional dishes, creating new combinations and experimenting with new flavors while being careful not to compromise the freshness and originality of the food she prepares. You can see how Mildred with passion handles and cooks food, from the cutting board to the stove to the plate.
